"Hair loss from the systems is one of the biggest nightmares for wig wearers, and even more so for us, wig makers, because we are the ones who are responsible for the reliability of the product. Believe me, I want you to be completely satisfied with the wig or toupee that I make for you will serve you as long as possible, that's why I use double knots to make it indestructible. Despite this, slight hair loss is absolutely natural and inevitable, but if a lot of hair falls out, it is possible that you are making one of the above-mentioned mistakes. You will find here are my 10+ suggestions on what not to do and how to prevent it in the future."

  • DO NOT USE CONDITIONER AT JOINTS

Never use conditioner close to the lace, an oily product will loosen the knots. Yes, even the double ones. The same applies to oils and other leave-in conditioners.

  • RINSE FROM THE INSIDE

When washing a wig, NEVER run a stream of water over the top of the system, this will push the hair to the inside of the wig or toupee. Always rinse from the inside.

  • AVOID FINE COMBS
Use only a coarse comb in the root area. The fine teeth of the comb can untie knots.

  • DRY COMB

Try not to comb the system when it is wet as the hair may break out. Comb it before washing. Wet hair is best left to air dry or, if you want to quickly style your hair after washing, first blow dry the roots so that the knots are completely dry, then use a leave-in conditioner on the ends to make brushing easier. This will help avoid unnecessary pulling.

  • DO NOT DYE YOUR GROWTHS

Dyeing the "roots" will probably weaken the knots and may cause hair loss. Try to avoid these areas. Dyeing your hair at least 10 cm from the knots will not be as destructive and is a better choice if you decide to change your hair color. However, advise your hairdresser to take extra care when washing the system to be extra gentle with the knots.

  • DO NOT BACKUP YOUR WIG

Avoid backcombing your hair. Combing tangled hair can tear it out. If you want to add some volume to your hair, hair rollers or dry shampoo will be a better choice.

  • PULL YOUR HAIR TO TIGHTEN THE KNOTS

I know it sounds ridiculous that I'm telling you to do some maintenance work on your wig, but the knots can and probably will loosen up a bit over time, e.g. too much direct water jet can damage them. So, grab a small amount of hair 1-2 cm from the roots and gently pull in circular motions, this will tighten the loose knots

  • PLICA? ONLY PATIENCE WILL SAVE US

When your hair gets tangled, be gentle and patient :). YES, every hair gets tangled, REMY hair is the same as your natural hair - it gets tangled, especially when it comes to long hair. Slight tangles after a full day of wear are absolutely normal. Only processed and cuticle-free hair does not tangle, but when non-remy hair turns into a tangle - believe me - it can no longer be combed.

  • TRY NOT TO SLEEP ON YOUR SYSTEM

Avoid sleeping or swimming in your system, if your hair is long, ALWAYS braid it. Wigs that are 100% hand-tied, especially those made with single knots, no matter how excellent the quality, the knots may come undone due to uncontrolled rubbing.

  • AVOID LIGHTENING THE KNOTS

Lightening the so-called nodes "bleaching knots" technique: weakens the hair, dries it and consequently breaks it. We do not lighten knots of hair that are naturally a level 6 or lighter on the color palette. If your hair is level 5 or darker, we always use Olaplex to make sure it stays healthy.

  • DO NOT EXPERIMENT WITH OILS OR RANDOM CLEANER

When using glue or tape to attach the system, always use the same brand of remover.
